The Seamstress of Sound is a large-format illustrated book includes a CD with music and read text.
Barcelona .- Tomorrow Wednesday October 27th at 19:30 h is presented in Barcelona "The Seamstress of sound, picture book won the First Prize of Letters and Arts Musical Tales, convened by Sieteleguas Editions and Musicalia Foundation.
The book is a poetic text with Fernando Fuentes and Jorge del Corral illustrations and music by Yolanda Campos. The work is an ambitious project with 34 pages illustrated by Lazarillo Prize winner 2009, and includes a CD with the music created especially for this text by the composer Jacetano, and reading the story, to facilitate access for people with visual impairments .
History speaks of character, with the sounds forgotten that collects, builds the song in the world. The text, full of poetry and symbolism, is a hymn to the beauty of small things and at the same time, an invitation to forget day rush and enjoy the little things that surround us. Some of the original artwork, done in mixed media, may be in the overflow room for exhibitions of the Bertrand Library. The musical composition is a work inspired by the language of Bela Bartok, the great composer at the same time researcher and teacher, who left behind a vast output of music for children.
The book launch is part of the opening of an exhibition with illustrations by Jorge del Corral will be seen in the Bertrand Library until 20 November. Jorge del Corral was Lazarillo Prize winner 2009 in the form of picture books with text Alberto PĂ©rez, entitled "Manufacturers of mountains", to be released shortly.
